FAQ’s

Before taking the plunge and learning to dance, often you will have quite a few questions! Below are some of our most frequently asked questions:

Q: Do I need a partner to attend classes?

A: No. We have couples that choose to attend classes together, but we also have many people who choose to come along on their own. If there is an odd amount of students, then the teacher will always dance with those on their own.

Q: What do I wear to dance classes?

A: We recommend smart casual clothing. Nothing that is too restrictive and will allow you to move. The most common inhibitor is footwear! After you have been dancing for some time, we recommend that you purchase a pair of dance shoes (available in the studio from Duo Dance). However, to start with we recommend wearing shoes that will not slip off and allow you to move on a wooden floor. Once you have done a few classes you will soon get the feel on what in your wardrobe will work best!

Q: If I miss a class, can I get an additional private lesson?

A: Of course! If you feel you have missed a bit of content from the lessons, then a private lesson is a great way to catch up and get you feeling confident to join the class again! We offer classes in 30 minute or 1 hour blocks, and are available 7 days per week.

Q: I am getting married soon…can you teach my fiancé and I to dance?

A: We certainly can! Over the years we have taught hundreds of couples to dance. We have taught them the traditional wedding Waltz, right through to Tango and Jive! Take a look at our Wedding Dance page for more information.
